Le processus de sélection des 10 préfinalistes du prix AfricTivistes pour l’Action Civique a été lancé le 16 juillet 2021, date de clôture des nominations. A l’issue de ses travaux, le comité de sélection, composé de partenaires d’AfricTivistes, a retenu les profils suivants:
- Adams Cassinga, Fondateur de Conserv Congo, RDC;
- Divine Ingabire, Fondatrice et Directrice exécutive de I Matter Initiative, Rwanda;
- Fibanda Brotry, Fondateur de l’initiative Wezesha Young Farmers, Kenya;
- Mamadou Diakhaté, Fondateur de l’association Simple Action Citoyenne Sénégal;
- Fatouma Harber, Co-fondatrice de SankoréLabs, Mali
- Laetitia Carelle Goli, Fondatrice de l’Académie Politique des Femmes, Côte d’Ivoire;
- Muazu Alhaji Modu, Fondateur de l’initiative Spotlight for Transparency and Accountability, Nigéria;
- Hamzat Bala Lawal, Fondateur de Connected Development (CODE), Nigéria;
- Idris Bilyaminu Ndasadu'Lau, Fondateur de YAPD4Africa, Nigéria;
- Djamila Boubacar Sahabi, Fondatrice de Actu Magazine & Nissa Pad , Niger.
Le comité de sélection du Prix AfricTivistes considère que ces 10 pré finalistes présentent les meilleurs projets à fort impact social.
Pour la prochaine étape, ces candidats sélectionnés seront mis en compétition à travers un vote public sur la plateforme dédiée: https://prize.africtivistes.org/fr/
Il y aura 2 votes dans cette partie. Un premier vote sera lancé afin de permettre aux 10 candidats et à leurs équipes de mener une campagne avec le hashtag #AfricTivistesPrize. Le vote débutera le lundi 11 octobre 2021 à 18 heures TU (Temps Universel) et prendra fin le vendredi 22 Octobre 2021 à 18 heures TU (Temps Universel).
En même temps que ce premier vote, un jury institutionnel composé de partenaires de AfricTivistes sera chargé de sélectionner les 5 finalistes avec l’aide de critères prédéfinis et de leur propre jugement. La notation des membres de ce jury représente 40% et le vote public représente 60% du résultat de cette phase.
Les 5 champions retenus participeront au 3e Sommet AfricTivistes prévu du 11 au 13 novembre 2021 à Abidjan où sera décerné le Prix AfricTivistes pour l’Action Civique.
Un deuxième vote, qui mettra en compétition les 5 finalistes, débutera le 1er novembre 2021 et prendra fin la veille du Sommet, le 10 novembre 2021, TU (Temps Universel). Ce vote représente 60% du résultat final. Un jury final, représentant 40% et composé des 2 anciens récipiendaires du Prix Anna Guèye 2018 et de représentants des différentes régions de l’Afrique, choisira le lauréat.
Au final, le Prix AfricTivistes pour l’Action Civique sera décerné au meilleur jeune africain détenteur du meilleur projet avec à la clé la somme de US$10 000, du matériel informatique et électronique, une bourse et des subventions pour répliquer son modèle de projet ou initiative dans d'autres pays africains.
Le lauréat bénéficiera également de voyages de partages et d’échanges d’expériences avec notre réseau de partenaires en Afrique et en Europe. Quant aux quatre finalistes restants, ils auront chacun US$ 1 500 et du matériel informatique et électronique, et ils bénéficieront également de certains avantages au même titre que le lauréat.
En tant que modèles pour leurs communautés respectives, les finalistes profiteront également des side events du 3ème sommet et pourront collaborer avec les divers partenaires de AfricTivistes attendus à cette rencontre continentale.
Le Prix AfricTivistes pour l’Action Civique est dédié aux jeunes des 54 pays du continent africain, âgés de 40 ans au plus. Après le lancement du Prix le 03 juin 2021, chacun pouvait nominer le candidat de son choix suivant les critères établis sur la base d’un projet innovant à fort impact social ou communautaire.
A noter qu’à la fin des nominations le 16 juillet 2021, 337 personnes venant de 21 pays africains ont été enregistrés. 86 personnes ont été retenues après un premier filtre (basé sur le respect des conditions et critères de base). Sur les 86, seules 18 femmes ont été nominées, soit un pourcentage de 20,93%.

Find out the names of the AfricTivistes Civic Action Prize pre-finalists
The selection process of the 10 pre-finalists of the AfricTivistes Civic Action Prize began on July 16, 2021, the closing date for nominations. At the end of the process, the selection committee, composed of AfricTivistes' partners, selected the following profiles:

The selection committee of the AfricTivistes Prize considers that these 10 pre-finalists have the best projects with high social impact.
For the next step, these selected candidates will compete through a public vote on the dedicated platform: https://prize.africtivistes.org/
There will be 2 vote phases. A first phase of public vote will be opened to allow the 10 candidates and their teams to campaign with the hashtag #AfricTivistesPrize. Voting will start on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 6pm GMT and will end on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 6pm GMT.
At the same time as the second phase of vote is an institutional jury composed of AfricTivistes partners that will be in charge of selecting the 5 finalists based on set criteria and their own judgment. The scoring of the members of this jury represents 40% and the public vote represents 60% of the final outcome of this stage.
The 5 selected champions will participate in the 3rd AfricTivistes Summit scheduled for November 11-13, 2021 in Abidjan where the AfricTivistes Civic Action Prize will be awarded.
A second public vote, which will put the 5 finalists in competition, will begin on November 1, 2021 and will end the day before the Summit, on November 10, 2021. This vote represents 60% of the final result. A final jury, representing 40% and composed of the 2 former recipients of the 2018 Anna Gueye Award and representatives of the different regions of Africa, will choose the winner.
The AfricTivistes Civic Action Prize will be awarded to the most outstanding young African with the best project, along with US$10,000, computer and electronic equipment, a scholarship and grants to replicate their project model or initiative in other African countries.
The winner will also benefit from exchange programmes with our network of partners in Africa and Europe. As for the four remaining finalists, they will each receive US$ 1,500 as well as computer and electronic equipment, and they will also benefit from a number of advantages as the winner.
As role models for their respective communities, the finalists will also participate in the side events of the 3rd summit and will be able to collaborate with the various partners of AfricTivistes who are expected to attend this continental meeting.
The AfricTivistes Civic Action Prize is dedicated to the youth of the 54 countries of the African continent, aged 40 years or less. After the launch of the Prize on June 03, 2021, anyone had the possibility to nominate the candidate of their choice according to the criteria established for innovative projects with strong social or community impact.
At the end of the nominations on July 16, 2021, 337 people from 21 African countries were registered. 86 people were shortlisted after a first screening (based on those who met the basic requirements). Out of the 86, only 18 women were nominated, a percentage of 20.93%.
